lyrics

- -
standing all alone
in the direct center
of a giant square cave

there is one window on one wall
gold and yellow light beams outside
but not one fragment touches inside here
i reach my arms out but they cover no distance
i am stationary but moving back

i see a brilliant fleck of green outside the window.
my pupils and irises spasm and search
search for what may be a hint of life
and there it is is again
a winged emerald
an insect as beautiful as a jewel in the crown of mother earth

it is humming around up and down
with brass wings

grand green and bold brass

i cannot look away even though i realize it is burning holes in my eyes
burning holes in my eyes straight through the back of my cracking skull

and in this giant square cave
with one window on one wall
my eyes begin to sizzle
to melt
and my skull begins to split
my tiny arms snap and fall to the ground

and green emeralds with legs. beetles. come pouring out of me
and then all of the sudden
in this black chasm

i become
a being of light

and so the window shatters
the walls are gone
and so am i
. , .
